[name removed] has had better support from Wokingham CTPLD since he relocated in March 2022 than he did from the team at Slough. He underwent emotional trauma for a considerable time in living in a placement in which he was not happy and had refused to return to on numerous occasions. Slough held a so called 'best interests' meeting and found that it was better for him to remain despite a social worker having witnessed his refusal to enter the home and remain which resulted in [name removed] coming back with me. [name removed]'s emotional wellbeing has been adversely affected and this is being reviewed by staff in liaison with a psychologist in order to create a positive behaviour support plan.
Suggested improvements
It would have been better if the commissioning teams had more effective liaison when needed. There were also some highly unsuitable placements offered where I would question who visits as necessary. One property in Lower Earley was reported for safeguarding after a viewing, there was a vulnerable adult living there.
It took considerable persistence on my part via the relevant Councillors to ensure that there was a contact identified within the commissioning team to resolve the search for an alternative placement.
